NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. Write All About It! 2017 Writers Contest is produced by HERE TO HELP LEARNING and CRIMSON PULSE MEDIA (the “Contest” or “Promotion”) The contest is based on the HERE TO HELP LEARNING Write early, write often, write well- a concept developed by HERE TO HELP LEARNING. The Contest begins on or about February 1, 2017 and ends with the announcement of national winners on or about December 15, 2017.

This Contest consists of (10) rounds, one each month. One winner will be randomly chosen at the end of each month. The monthly winner is eligible for the grand prize chosen in the month of December 2017. Participants may submit as many entries as desired.

To be eligible, an entrant must be a legal resident of the fifty (50) United States and D.C. (excluding Puerto Rico, USVI and American Samoa). Contest void where prohibited. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify ineligible entries. Only a parent or guardian 18 years or older is permitted to submit author’s work.

Only single author stories qualify (no co-authored stories). Authors must be in kindergarten through sixth grade (ages 5-13). Stories can be fact, fiction, prose, or poetry. Children who cannot write may dictate their story. Any failure to adhere to these Contest Rules may result in disqualification from the Contest. No purchase is necessary.

All entries must be sent to electronically by completing the form below.

Entries submitted must include:
1. Parent Confirmation: A parent must confirm that the child completed all the steps of the writing process as outlined on the contest page for the submitted writing project and that the written work submitted was completed in the year 2017.
2. Word Count Requirement of writing project:
The word count includes “a,” “an,” and “the,” but not the words on non-story pages such as the title page or those that enhance the illustrations. Text must be printed or written legibly or typed.
Kindergarten and first grade stories must have a minimum of 50 words and a maximum of 200 words.
Second and third grade stories must have a minimum of 100 words and a maximum of 350 words.
Third and fourth grade must have a minimum of 200 words and a maximum of 450 words.
Fifth and Sixth grader must have a minimum of 500 words and a maximum of 1000 words.
All Poetry Submission Requirements: One entry must meet word count for grade level. However, you may submit more than one poem per entry to meet requirement.

Cover and Illustrations:
All entries must include an ORIGINAL photo (jpeg format) of the cover page that includes the title of the story, artwork (hand drawings by the author), the FIRST NAME ONLY of the author. and age of the author. Students may use Here to Help Learning’s cover templates. NO CLIPART or other COLORING PAGES will be accepted.

All prizes will be mailed. Winners must provide address upon request to receive prize.
Winners will be announced on the contest page and via email provided. Prize not claimed within 30 days will result in a forfeit and another winner will be randomly chosen.

Monthly winners will receive one book from The Truth Quest Series, or the Hippopolis series, or another book authored by Brock Eastman, and one 30 minute video conference writing session with either children’s author Brock Eastman and/or Mrs. Mora of Here to Help Learning’s Writing Program.

Grand prize winner will receive a tablet computer or electronic learning devices (Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) $200 USD), HERE TO HELP LEARNING reserves the right to substitute any prize for a prize of equal or greater value.

By entering, entrants’ parent/legal guardian agree to abide by the above stated rules, and warrant that their child’s/ward’s entry is their original work and does not infringe upon or violate rights of any third party, and grant to HERE TO HELP LEARNING and CRIMSON PULSE MEDIA the right to edit, publish, promote, and otherwise use their entry materials without permission, notice or compensation. No royalties will be paid at this or any time.

By submitting an entry and Entry Form, each participant’s parent/legal guardian, on behalf of the participant, agrees to assign all right, title, and interest in and to the entry and Entry Form to HERE TO HELP LEARNING and CRIMSON PULSE MEDIA and warrants that the participant’s parent/legal guardian has the authority to assign such right, title, and interest. In the event that any applicable law requires certain formalities to be fulfilled to effectuate such grant of rights, each participant (and parent or guardian) agrees to cooperate with HERE TO HELP LEARNING and CRIMSON PULSE MEDIA to achieve fulfillment of such formalities.

AUTHORIZATION TO USE PHOTOGRAPHS AND/OR AUDIO-VISUAL AND/OR WRITTEN POETRY AND ESSAYS. By submitting an entry, you hereby authorize HERE TO HELP LEARNING (Company) and CRIMSON PULSE MEDIA (Company) to use, reproduce, and/or publish photographs and/or video that may pertain to the contest participant— including, written work, illustrations, images, likeness and/or voice without compensation. I understand that this material may be used in various publications, public affairs releases, recruitment materials, social media,broadcast public service advertising (PSAs), or for other related endeavors. This material may also appear on the Company's or project sponsor's Internet Web Page. This authorization is continuous and may only be withdrawn by my specific rescission of this authorization. Consequently, the Company or project sponsors may publish materials, use my first name, photograph, and/or make reference to me in any manner that the Company or project sponsor deems appropriate in order to promote/publicize service opportunities.

By submitting an Entry Form, each participant’s parent/legal guardian, on behalf of participant, agrees to be bound by these Contest Rules. Each participant’s parent/legal guardian, on behalf of the participant, agrees to release and hold HERE TO HELP LEARNING and CRIMSON PULSE MEDIA, and its employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, representatives, subsidiaries, parent companies, or other affiliated companies harmless from any and all damages, losses, claims and liabilities arising out of participation in the Contest or resulting from acceptance or claiming of any prize hereunder. HERE TO HELP LEARNING and CRIMSON PULSE MEDIA and its employees or affiliates may not participate.

HERE TO HELP LEARNING and CRIMSON PULSE MEDIA reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate, suspend or otherwise cancel the contest at any time. Income and all other taxes are the responsibility of the prize recipient.

HERE TO HELP LEARNING and CRIMSON PULSE MEDIA is not responsible for any expenses incurred in connection with participation in the Contest. Privacy: Unless otherwise specified, any and all information connected in connection with this Contest will be used by Sponsors solely for the purpose of administering the Contest. Failure to comply with any of the rules will result in disqualification from contest.
