Homeschool Business Reports and Trends
The Saturday after Thanksgiving, our family chooses a sleepy tucked-away town and begin our Christmas shopping. Our tradition started long before Small Business Saturday was made popular. We love meandering through the shops looking for unique gifts for family and friends. Forrest and I found this little treasure in a local used bookstore, “The Leadership Secrets of Santa”. We just had to buy it! From the first few sentences, the tongue-in-cheek writing style had us laughing. You’ll see what I mean. Here’s the first paragraph:
“Believe you me, having to smile and be jolly every day when wearing the same thick, hot, red-wool suit (that itches like crazy) is no picnic. This is a job that will definitely strain your sanity and drain your ego if you let it. Seems like everyone wants a piece of me. Yet many of the people I serve question my existence…or just plain don’t believe in me at all. And those who do believe often expect me to do the impossible -rarely caring about what I have to do, or go through (including chimneys), to meet their expectations. And they ALL have expectations.”
–The Leadership Secrets of Santa Claus by Harvey and Cottrell
Don’t you agree? The Santa metaphor works! We found ourselves nodding our head and identifying with the Jolly Ol’ Guy from the North Pole from a business/service perspective. It was a delightful read. Forrest and I really enjoyed all the topics, and it helped put us in the Christmas business/service spirit!
Business and Services in Action
Christmas is a time to share the greatest story the world has ever known!

The backstory of our lives is God’s story of His faithfulness! Each of us has a personal story to share. Share it with those you serve! Proclaim God’s faithfulness in your life this Christmas!
