Multi-Level Teaching
Multi-level teaching brings families together!
Multi-level teaching is where one lesson is taught to an entire group while meeting each child’s individual needs. Multi-level teaching is an effective approach to instruction and requires less time than separate instruction. Younger students benefit from being exposed to more advanced skills and older students benefit from demonstrating their skills to younger students.
Some subjects work better than others, writing being one of them.
Here to Help Learning’s Writing program has built-in features in the filmed instruction that make it easy to teach different levels.
Features include:
- Guides and encourages the students from one skill level to the next.
- Prompts group writing discussions.
- Encourages student self-evaluation and personal goal setting.
Both the Paragraph and Essay levels are designed to teach multiple grades at the same time.
Example:
Paragraph Writing is geared for grades 1-3, so you may choose Paragraph Flight 1, 2, or 3 and teach your family or class of students in first, second, and third grade at the same time. The following year you would choose a different Flight.
Essay Writing is geared for grades 4- 6, so you may choose Essay Flight 1, 2, or 3 and teach your family or class of students in fourth, fifth, and sixth grade at the same time. The following year you would choose a different Flight.
